Michael Murphy

Michael Murphy is an Associate at FREEDIN & ROWELL LLP and a member of the firm’s Corporate and Commercial Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Private Equity practice groups. Prior to joining FREEDIN & ROWELL LLP as an associate, Michael was both a summer and articling student with the firm.

Michael’s practice focuses on asset and share transactions, private equity, shareholder and partnership agreements, professional corporate services, and general corporate matters.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University. Before attending law school, Michael gained valuable experience at a Big Five Canadian bank and a health technology startup, where he developed a strong foundation in financial services and innovation. These roles sharpened his client-centric approach and deepened his expertise in structuring complex transactions, enabling him to deliver tailored solutions that support long-term business growth and strategic objectives.

Outside of the office, Michael enjoys playing hockey, golfing, and is a volunteer for the Ontario Hockey Federation.
