Suzanna Winsborough is the Managing Partner at FREEDIN & ROWELL LLP, a member of the Corporate and Commercial Law Group, and leads the firm’s Business & Estate Succession Group.

With a practice that focuses on succession for both individuals and corporations, Suzanna advises and assists clients with their personal estate planning needs, family business succession plans and corporate reorganization plans.

Suzanna has vast experience in complex estate planning, including multiple will strategies, Henson trusts, and various other testamentary trusts. She also prepares and advises on different types of intervivos trusts, including joint partner trusts and discretionary family trusts, typically used as part of a greater tax plan.

Suzanna regularly works with clients’ accountants and other professional advisors to implement business succession plans that will give effect to the interests and wishes of clients, while simultaneously protecting the business and the clients’ beneficiaries and successors.

A large part of Suzanna’s practice involves implementing estate freezes and other tax-driven corporate reorganizations to assist clients with transitioning family businesses to the next generation and for general tax planning.

To enhance her ability to deal with complex estate planning situations, Suzanna obtained the Certified Financial Planner designation in 2013, and in 2016 obtained the Chartered Life Underwriter designation, known as Canada’s premier wealth transfer and estate planning designation.  Suzanna is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Amy Delisle is Partner at FREEDIN & ROWELL, LLP,  a member of the firm’s Corporate/Commercial Group and leads the firm’s Franchising, Retail & Distribution Group.

Amy’s corporate/commercial practice involves mergers and acquisitions, the preparation, negotiation and review of commercial contracts, and shareholder and partnership advice. She also advises businesses with an online presence on website terms and conditions and privacy issues.

In the area of franchising, Amy has extensive experience in developing and implementing strategies that support the business and financial objectives of franchisors and franchisees. She is a member of the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) and also sits on its Franchise Support Services/Supplier Committee.

David Di Gregorio is a Partner at FREEDIN & ROWELL LLP where he leads the Banking and Financial Services Team and is a part of the Real Estate and Land Development Team.

David’s commercial real estate practice is focused on: the purchase and sale of commercial properties and lands, and commercial leasing. In his secured lending practice, David advises financial institutions, private lenders and borrowers in debt financing transactions of all kinds, including real estate financings, construction/project financing, asset-based lending and other credit facilities (secured, non-secured, domestic, revolving and term).

Gideon started his career working for an in-house legal team providing strategic business and legal advice to small and medium sized land developers and builders in the Golden Horseshoe.

At FREEDIN & ROWELL LLP, Gideon helps developers and builders obtain the necessary permits and approvals to service, plan, develop and redevelop residential, industrial and commercial properties. Gideon's broad experience includes everything from purchase and sale of vacant, residential, commercial and industrial land; document registration and land assembly; securing severances, minor variances, site plan approval, and subdivision and condominium approval; registering and organizing condominiums; and selling new condominium units and freehold lots to end-users. In addition to his land development law practice, Gideon maintains a broad real estate practice that includes commercial and residential purchases and sales and commercial leasing.

Gideon has an interest in urban renewal and sustainable development, experience with brownfield redevelopment and enjoys applying his keen sense of the development industry to help developers and builders navigate their first projects.

Jonathan Borrelli is a Partner at FREEDIN & ROWELL LLP, head of the firm’s Employment and Labour Law practice group, and a member in the Commercial Litigation group.

He is a fierce yet thoughtful advocate who assists clients in managing disputes before a wide variety of courts and tribunals.

He has experience with a wide range of workplace issues and employment-related litigation matters. He has helped both employers and employees with employment and contractor agreements, wrongful dismissal matters, occupational health and safety, accommodation, terminations, investigations, restrictive covenants, workplace policies and workplace human rights. He also advises on employment law aspects of corporate transactions.

Jonathan provides strategic day-to-day advice to employers, and is also called on to guide long term human resource planning.  He takes a practical and proactive approach when dealing with any workplace issue, and helps employers create and institute policies and procedures to increase productivity and reduce conflict.

Jonathan represents his clients before all levels of courts and tribunals in Ontario, including the Superior Court of Justice, Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, Ontario Labour Relations Board, Ontario Court of Justice, Small Claims Court, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and the Landlord and Tenant Board. Samples of Jonathan’s cases include: defences of wrongful dismissal claims, defences of discrimination allegations and human rights damages, defence of intrusion upon seclusion claim, defences of occupational health and safety charges, prosecution of breach of contract claims, prosecution of corporate oppression claims on behalf of shareholders, and others.

Jonathan is a regular speaker at events related to employment law, human rights, harassment, and accommodation. In 2025, Jonathan was selected to act as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Toronto Board of Trade.

Serving the dental industry since 2016, Jonathan has received his Certificate in Dental Practice Management from the University of Toronto.  He is pleased to advise dentists on their unique human resources needs.

In 2019, Jonathan obtained Workplace Investigation certification from the Human Resources Professionals Association. He completes impartial workplace investigations related to harassment, violence, sexual harassment, theft, misconduct, and any other workplace matter.

Prior to joining FREEDIN & ROWELL LLP, Jonathan worked at one of Ontario's largest boutique employment law firms and a boutique dental law firm.
